ABOUT

Alloua Maël  is an Ivorian visual artist and designer who was born in 1997 in the Parisian suburbs. After completing her high school education in literature at Lycée Guy de Maupassant in Hauts-de-Seine, France, she pursued her passion for art and design by enrolling in a training program in applied arts (MANAA) at Autograf Paris. Building on this foundation, she went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis.
During her formative years, she spent time living in London, as well as experiencing the vibrant arts scenes of cities like Dakar and Accra. These diverse cultural experiences broadened her horizons and provided inspiration for her creative work, leading her to explore a range of artistic styles and techniques.

In 2020, Maëlys returned to Côte d'Ivoire, where she has since devoted herself to her visual practices, which include illustration, painting, and design. She  had the opportunity to participate in a workshop with the acclaimed designer Jean Servais Somian.

" Design is the interval  where art becomes practical, and where the expression of identity and emotions strengthens the conception of an object. As an African woman with European cultural influences, I question my own identity in my work, studying the body and its movements, as well as the relationship between the body and space. Through my artistic approach, I aim to transform an object into a work of art and seek to sublimate the everyday through my creations. "
